Job summary

Job description

Infosys is seeking a Android Developer. This position will interface with key stakeholders and apply technical proficiency across different stages of the Software Development Life Cycle including Requirements Elicitation, Application Architecture definition and Design; play an important role in creating the high level design artifacts; deliver high quality code deliverables for a module, lead validation for all types of testing and support activities related to implementation, transition and warranty. Required Qualifications

• Candidate must be located within commuting distance of Calgary, AB/Burnaby, BC or be willing to relocate to the area. This position may require travel.
• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent required from an accredited institution. Will also consider three years of progressive experience in the specialty in lieu of every year of education.
• At least 7 years of Information Technology experience.

Preferred Qualification

• Strong knowledge of Java & Android build system with exp. in Kotlin.
• Strong object-oriented design skills including design patterns, data structures, test driven development.
• Sound knowledge of memory management and concurrency.
• Working knowledge of Android internals, Android UI design principles, patterns, and best practices to help build high performance apps with low footprint.
• Experience building Android app from scratch with a strong focus on architecture. Familiar with MVP, MVVM, VIPER, etc.
• Experience working with remote data via REST and JSON.
• Experience with third-party libraries, APIs, web services and JSON, e.g Dagger, Rxjava, Retrofit, GSON, Jackson etc.
• Hands on knowledge working with Junit, Mockito.

The job entails sitting as well as working at a computer for extended periods of time. Should be able to communicate by telephone, email, or face to face. Extensive travel may be required as per client and project needs.

Estimated annual compensation range for the candidate based in the below location will be:

British Columbia: $ 90450 to $ 136500
