Job summary

vTech Solution in Canada is seeking a Senior Technology Architect to design and govern the technical architecture across hardware, software, database, and communications in a large distributed environment.

Hybrid work model with three days in office and two remote per week; strong leadership across platforms, IT security and zero-trust design, plus experience with CA Gateway and Layer 7 gateways is preferred.

Qualifications

Job Summary:

The Senior Technology Architect is responsible for developing, recommending, implementing, and managing the technical architecture across hardware, software, database, and communications in a large, distributed, cross-platform environment. This role involves translating business requirements into technical solutions, ensuring performance optimization, and guiding teams using structured methodologies and ITIL processes.

Responsibilities:

• Leadership experience in developing and implementing technical architectures.
• Extensive experience with at least three different platforms, operating systems, database technologies, and communication protocols.
• Proficiency with middleware and Layer 7 gateways including CA Gateway (5+ years).
• Strong knowledge of IT security strategies, governance, and designing systems for zero trust (5+ years).
• Experience with systems analysis, design, and performance considerations in large environments.
• Ability to prepare enterprise architecture deliverables and models.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

• Experience with Ontario Government Enterprise Architecture processes and practices.
• Knowledge of Enterprise Content Management (Open Text ECM applications).
• Understanding of Information Management principles, concepts, policies, and practices.
• Public sector experience.

Special Considerations:

• Must have experience designing systems for zero trust security frameworks.
• Experience with CA Gateway and other Layer 7 gateways is essential.
