University of Calgary seeks a Recurring Part-time Technology and Facility Support Specialist to provide desktop and IT support for staff and instructors at the downtown and main campuses. You will handle technical issues with tact, maintain relationships with faculty and campus units, and support IT, hardware and classroom needs.
The role reports to the Manager, Facilities and Operations. Hours are 8:30 am–4:30 pm, Monday to Friday, with potential overtime and standby shifts.

This job posting is hiring for the morning and/or afternoon shift. Reporting to the Manager, Facilities and Operations, Daily tasks and work assignments will be distributed and supervised by the Facilities Team Lead and IT Support Specialist. The incumbent(s) will support both the downtown campus and/or main campus, working closely with staff in a cross-functional team environment.
The intended hours of work for the recurring part time positions are Monday to Friday 8.30am - 4.30 pm depending on the business needs of the downtown and/or Main campus. Over time, this may be required, and the incumbent may be expected to be on standby. Hours given will be based on the business needs of the campus but will generally range from 15 to 35 hours per week.
This position is part of the AUPE Collective Bargaining Unit. Staff will be required to work a variety of shifts, including days, afternoons, nights, weekends and paid holidays. Transferring to other shifts, with notice, is a possibility. There is potential for emergency callouts. Heavy lifting and use of ladders are required.
Work requires creative problem solving to troubleshoot day-to-day issues that arise from running the Seminar Centre in Education tower. This position requires a high degree of confidentiality, tact, diplomacy and good judgment when dealing with external and internal stakeholders during busy and stressful periods of work. Excellent proven people skills are a must.
