McCuaig & Associates Engineering Ltd. in Burnaby, BC is seeking a Technologist/EIT to join the Asset Management Department. The role requires 3–4 years of building science and project management experience, with eligibility to register as an AScT or as an EIT/P.Eng.

Qualifications

• Registered or eligible to register as an AScT with ASTTBC or EIT/P.Eng. with EGBC
• 3–4 years of technical building science experience is preferred
• Strong technical writing and verbal communication skills required
• Excellent attention to detail and work ethic essential
• Proficient with Bluebeam Revu, Excel, Word; Revit/CAD a plus

Responsibilities

• Assist Project Engineers and Project Managers in Asset Management projects
• Conduct condition assessments and capital/maintenance planning
• Perform feasibility studies and site reviews/field investigations
• Review drawings, specs, and financial documents; perform quantity takeoffs/estimates
• Develop budgets and cash flows; research materials and update templates
• Liaise with clients, contractors and consultants; attend client meetings

Job description

McCuaig & Associates Engineering Ltd. is currently seeking a Technologist/EIT to join our Asset Management Department at our Burnaby, BC office.The ideal candidate will have at least 3-4 years of technical building science and project management experience and has a keen interest in the field of asset management.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist Project Engineers and Project Managers in the following Asset Management projects:
• Condition Assessments
• Capital and Maintenance Planning
• Feasibility Studies
• Perform site reviews / field investigation
• Review of drawings, specifications and other relevant technical and financial document
• Perform quantity takeoffs / estimating
• Develop budgets and cash flows
• Research building materials and maintain and update internal templates, database and library
• Liaise with clients, contractors, suppliers, and other specialty consultants as necessary
• Attend client meetings

Skills and Qualifications:

• Registered or eligible to register as an AScT with ASTTBC or EIT/P.Eng. with EGBC
• Strong technical writing skills and verbal communication skills, including presentation skills
• Excellent attention to detail and strong work ethic
• Technically proficient in Bluebeam Revu, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Autodesk Revit/CAD an asset
• Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and adapt to shifting priorities
• Effective project management skills and experience
• Relevant building science and construction industry related experience
• Working knowledge of building codes, ASHRAE 90.1, NEBC, and relevant standards
• Ability to travel
• Ability to work at heights
• Valid Driver's License
