Join Cologix, Inc. as a Data Center Operations Technician (Night Shift 00H-08H).

Schedule: Tuesday to Saturday, 00H to 08H

About the Role:

The Level 1 Data Center Technician is responsible for client communications via phone or email, operation and maintenance of the data center. They follow up on requests until completion and escalate when necessary. They monitor environmental systems and report any failures or alarms.

Daily Responsibilities:

• Respond to client requests
• Support client support requests
• Document interventions and update ticketing system
• Maintain communication with clients from request initiation to closure
• Register clients and visitors
• Monitor security and environmental surveillance systems
• Apply security procedures and policies
• Ensure equipment such as CRAC, CRAH, UPS, generators, and other data center equipment are operational
• Record readings of electrical and cooling equipment and fill out reports
• Install copper and fiber optic cables and patch panels
• Maintain detailed site documentation on cross-connects and client cabling
• Adhere to industry best practices and standards like TIA-942 and BICSI
• Keep the site clean
• Be available for 24/7 support

Qualifications:

• Ongoing Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Telecommunications (preferred)
• Technical and mechanical knowledge of HVAC and electrical systems
• Excellent understanding of IT systems such as servers and networking equipment
• Proficiency in MS Office
• Autonomous with good teamwork skills
• Fluent in English for communication with colleagues, clients, and suppliers outside Quebec
• Comfortable working in a 24/7 environment
