Technicien informatique de service sur le terrain - Support sur site - A&R Solutions

Overview of the position:

Reporting to the regional manager on the ground, the technician is responsible for supporting IT operations at client sites within the region. They diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain hardware and software to ensure efficient and compliant systems. The technician is the primary contact for IT support and represents A&R Solutions to clients. This position is based in the Montreal area and is suitable for entry-level candidates, including recent college and university graduates.

Scope and impact of the role:

The on-site IT technician plays a key role in the customer support team, responsible for effectively managing IT operations within a localized client base. The role is crucial in ensuring that client organizations' technology functions efficiently, with problems resolved promptly and professionally.

Main responsibilities:
  • Provide technical support to end-users.
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues.
  • Install and configure new equipment (computers, laptops, printers).
  • Ensure proper functioning of RMM software and antivirus solutions.
  • Perform regular maintenance and updates of systems and security.
  • Manage user integrations and departures.
  • Escalate issues beyond scope to appropriate service or management teams.
  • Collaborate with the network team on support for firewalls, switches, Internet, and wireless devices.
  • Work with the infrastructure team on server, SaaS, and security support.
  • Document work through an internal ticketing system; ensure site documentation is accurate and up-to-date.
  • Participate in ongoing training on new technologies.
Qualifications:
  • 1 to 2 years of experience.
  • Strong technical knowledge of hardware and software.
  • Proficiency with Windows operating systems.
  • Ability to configure Microsoft Office and Office 365 software.
  • Experience managing domain and workgroup environments.
  • Knowledge of computer networks.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
  • Experience in a Managed Service Provider (MSP) environment is preferred.
  • Valid driver's license, insurance, and access to a vehicle are required.
Required education and experience:

A degree in IT, information technology, or a related field is generally required. However, equivalent experience in technical support will be accepted. Additional certifications like CompTIA A+ or Network+ are advantageous.
