Responsibilities

  • Performs work in accordance with established processes at client facility.
  • Complies with health, safety, fire protection requirements.
  • Performs regular facility monitoring and inspections.
  • Provides observations about facility conditions and deficiencies and provides suggestions for enhancements and repair.
  • Monitors assigned facility by conducting walkthroughs and inspections.
  • Responds to routine and on-demand service requests.
  • Performs preventative maintenance and repair work to non-technical components within the facility.
  • Ensures work completed meets quality, contract requirements.
  • Assists in implementing preventative maintenance programs and ensures deficiencies are identified and documented.
  • Participates in facility-related projects.
  • Maintains tools and arranges for repair or replacement as needed.
  • Assists in enhancing tenant and customer satisfaction and maintaining positive relations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Summary

The Facilities Maintenance Technician II is responsible for performing maintenance and repair, routine and on-demand services on non-technical facility components (i.e. General Handyman type work e.g. walls, floors, office furniture, interior doors, etc). The Technician is also responsible for performing work in accordance with established processes and practices and for complying with internal and external requirements including but not limited to environmental, health and safety, fire protection.

  • Maintains and repairs non-technical facility components
Key Duties & Responsibilities
  • Performs work in accordance with established processes and practices at client facility
  • Complies with all internal and external requirements including but not limited to environmental, health and safety, fire protection
  • Performs regular facility and facility non-technical component monitoring and inspection
  • Provides observations about facility and facility non-technical component conditions and deficiencies and provides suggestions for enhancements and repair.
  • Monitors assigned facility by conducting facility walkthroughs, facility non-technical component monitoring and inspection
  • Responds to routine and on-demand service requests
  • Performs preventative maintenance and repair work to non-technical components within the facility.
  • Ensures work completed meets quality, contract response and all other requirements
  • Assists client in the implementation of preventative maintenance (PM) program. Ensures that deficiencies are identified, recorded and escalated, and that related documentations are maintained.
  • Participates in and assists with facility-related projects.
  • Ensures the manner in which work is performed is in compliant with corporate and legislated policies, procedures, practices and guidelines related to environmental, health and safety, fire protection and any other applicable requirements.
  • Maintains all assigned tools and arranges for repair and replacement where required
  • Assists in enhancing tenant and customer satisfaction and maintaining positive relations through manner in which work is performed and services delivered.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Work Requirements
  • Must be able and willing to work shifts, be available for on-call/standby and emergency call-outs as they arise.
  • Must be willing to wear personal protective equipment
Education, Job-related Years Of Experience & Qualifications
  • Minimum 3 years facility operations and maintenance work experience
  • High school diploma plus some trades-related training
  • Ability to adhere and to properly execute processes and practices relating to facility operations and maintenance
  • Ability to maintain, troubleshoot and repair non-technical facility components
  • Ability to provide observations about facility conditions and deficiencies and provide suggestions for enhancement and repair
  • Ability to research, learn and gain greater proficiency in applying on-the-job – fire, life, safety and building codes and standards
  • Possesses a strong environmental, health and safety mindset. Ability to perform work in a safe manner
  • Strong client-service orientation along with a high sense of urgency
  • Effective communication skills for the purpose of data relay, exchange, feedback, and clarification
Licenses and/or Professional Accreditation
  • Must meet enhanced security clearance requirements

This is a regular, full-time position with a salary range of $23.20 - $27.30 per hour. The starting salary will be based on the successful candidate’s competencies, including but not limited to experience, education and performance related to this role.
