Job Summary :

This role will be based at our R&D center in Montreal. We are looking for a Lab Support and Testing Technician to join our Copper Connectivity Product Development Engineering team to support product qualifications, technical documentation, and produce prototypes as needed.

They will be responsible for the execution and reporting of technical tests required for product qualification. They will contribute to the design of products. They will be responsible for changes to drawings requested by team members. They will be responsible for the management of lab and equipment.

This position requires a full-time on-site presence.

Responsibilities :

• Ensure lab equipment is maintained and calibrated
• Maintain inventory of products and consumable materials
• Update testing procedures for the various test stations
• Define and implement new test procedures for new equipment or new requirements
• Identify new equipment required for lab testing needs
• Execute the testing and validation of new components
• Support the test requests that come from extended internal teams
• Generate formal System Test Reports for all testing performed

Development Support :

Assist in the development of new components

Generate the necessary documentation for customer special requests

Generate Technical Datasheets

Required Skills and Experience :

Technical College Studies Diploma (DEC) - in Engineering Technology or equivalent

At least three (3) years of experience in a similar position

Competency in test equipment & techniques electronic components (VNA, Signal Generator, Oscilloscope)

Ability to communicate in French, but also in English as communications with different plants in the US is necessary, and they only speak in English

Understands and adheres to ISO procedures

Competency with CAD System Solidworks or similar software is an asset

Competency in programming (Python, VBA) is an asset
