The Role
Perform service calls and repairs of Fisher & Paykel and DCS major home appliances and outdoor products that are both in warranty and out of warranty in customer homes, builder work sites, dealer showrooms or warehouses, and other designated locations while providing a premium customer experience.
You Will:
- Enhance the customer experience through first-time completions, product expertise, and genuine interest in resolving issues.
- Handle escalated service issues and assist with deficiencies in builder projects.
- Focus on customer first.
- Support returns department in performing in-house rework repairs and processing through internal systems.
- Initial startup in this position will be focused on learning and training within our workshop and working with the Regional Service Manager to gain a full understanding of our business.
- Represent Fisher & Paykel with professionalism, a positive attitude, and a sense of empathy and compassion.
- Evaluate products, determine repair procedures, and provide accurate estimates to customers.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment at all times.
- Develop and maintain superior product knowledge through all training media, service manuals, and sessions.
- Complete all related paperwork and forms.
- Maintain and manage truck stock of spare parts to ensure first-time completion of repairs.
- Research and order necessary replacement parts to maintain inventory.
- Collect all monies due from customers for services rendered.
- Perform other duties as assigned by your manager.
- Communicate openly with management to foster a culture of continuous improvement.
- Ensure all company equipment is maintained and protected.
- Meet or exceed performance metrics set by the company.
You Have:
- A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Trade school certification or post-secondary education preferred.
- Valid provincial appliance service gas certification.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in repairing major appliances.
- Experience with refrigeration and sealed systems.
- ODP certification for refrigerant sealed systems; company will support renewal if needed.
- Proficiency with various hand tools and repair equipment.
- Physical ability to perform tasks such as lifting up to 50 pounds, bending, and crouching for extended periods.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent diagnostic and analytical skills.
- Computer literacy and ability to learn new systems for administrative tasks.
