Make an impact with our Cloud Accounting Services team as an Accounting Technician. As a trusted advisor, you’ll use cutting-edge technology to deliver services including accounts payable, accounts receivable, bookkeeping, financial reporting, and payroll administration.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with full cycle bookkeeping and payroll functions for MNP clients
  • Prepare and maintain payroll and related government remittances/filings, record sales, accounts receivable, expenses, accounts payable, payroll, and WCB transactions
  • Set up client files and assist with budgets and administrative planning
  • Maintain, monitor, and reconcile GL accounts including cash, bank reconciliations, prepaid expenses, accounts receivable, accounts payable, accrued liabilities, and intercompany/system uploads
  • Identify issues and errors, investigate discrepancies, and discuss resolutions with supervisors or engagement partners
  • Communicate with governments regarding information requests, assessments, and installments
  • Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with clients and team members

Skills and Experience

  • Certificate or diploma in business administration or accounting is an asset
  • At least 1 year of full cycle bookkeeping experience
  • Experience with cloud accounting software such as QBO and/or Xero is preferred
  • Certifications in QBO Basic, QBO Advanced, Xero, or other applications are assets
  • Basic understanding of accounting principles and processes
  • Knowledge of sales taxes (GST, PST, HST), payroll taxes, and corporate tax
  • Experience with desktop bookkeeping software is beneficial
