Job summary

ATS Traffic is seeking a shop/field technician in Edmonton, AB to maintain BTI fleet electronics and provide technical support across Sales, Purchasing, Customer Service, Marketing and OSS. The role requires hands-on repair of fleet vehicles, liaison with Ver-Mac suppliers, and ensuring paperwork compliance in a fast-paced environment.

You will work in all weather, lift up to 50 lbs, and participate in Lean and Six Sigma activities while upholding ATS core values.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary diploma in electronics engineering tech or related field is an asset.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment drug, alcohol and fit test; safety sensitive role.
  • Experience in traffic control/construction industry is an asset.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office 365; ability to troubleshoot and communicate issues clearly.
  • Knowledge of print reading and motor controls (AC/DC).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Repair and maintenance of the local rental fleet and big-ticket items.
  • Do minor repairs on company trucks (lights, arrowboards).
  • Prepare consignment stock for sales or rentals.
  • Liaise for products ordered from Ver-Mac.
  • Provide technical support to branches and OSS.
  • Offer warranty service for sold equipment and training on Ver-Mac products.
  • Keep inventory of parts and ensure paperwork meets standards.
  • Assist in inventory counts and shop organization.

About the Position

Maintain theBig Ticket Items (BTI)and truck fleet electronics. Technical support to Sales, Purchasing, Customer Service, Marketing and allOn Street Service (OSS)departments. Providesales support pertaining to product to external customers.

Responsibilities
  • Repair and Maintenance of the local rental fleet and big-ticket items
  • Do minor repairs on company trucks such as revolving lights and arrowboards
  • Prepareconsignment stock for sales or rentals
  • Act as the liaison for product ordered from Ver-Mac
  • Supply branches with support,repairs,and technical support
  • Provide technical phone support,trouble-shootingand training on all Ver-Mac products
  • Stay current on all ATS products
  • Assist theProductSpecialist when new product is added to fleet
  • Order stock and maintain inventory of parts
  • Ensure all paperwork is to corporate standards and completed in a timely manner
  • Provide warranty service for sold equipment
  • Ensure Lean and 6 Sigma tasks are maintained daily
  • Able to work in all type of weather
  • Repairing Fleet trucks and trailers as necessary. (Electronic and mechanical components)
  • Movement of trailers using forklift and/or truck when necessary
  • Assisting in inventory counts/management.
  • Assist in keeping the shop and personal work area clean and organized.
Qualifications
  • Post-secondary Diploma in Electronics Engineering Technology or related field is an asset.
  • Ability to undergo and pass a pre-employment drug, alcohol and fit test. *As this is a safety sensitive position, we have a zero tolerance policy for use of marijuana (medical or recreational). Fit test includes ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climbing ladders/stairs to access equipment, etc.
  • Previous experience working in the traffic control/construction industry is an asset.
  • Proficient computer literacy with Microsoft Office 365: Word, Excel, and Outlook are required. Ability to install software drivers and perform basic troubleshooting while communicating issues effectively.
  • Knowledge of print reading and motor controls (A.C. and D.C.)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are required.
