OVERVIEW
To maintain the efficient operation of all packaging machinery. This position is a 12-hour rotation shift (continental) in which you will report to the Packaging Maintenance Supervisor. A 442 or 309A Ontario electrical license is required.
DETAILED ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure the safe and reliable operation of all packaging machinery.
- Report any equipment deficiencies immediately to the Maintenance Supervisor.
- Participate in the company's Continuous Improvement program.
- Work in accordance with the Redpath Health and Safety program.
- Contribute to a positive workplace environment.
- Work closely with the Production Supervisor to prioritize jobs and minimize production downtime.
- Consider the long-term sustainability of all activities and endeavor to reduce, reuse, and recycle resources in line with ASR policy.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of workplace health and safety matters relevant to your work.
- Exhibit positive collegial behaviors.
- Maintain packaging area cleanliness to the highest industry standards.
- Perform packaging machine changeovers as required.
- Complete scheduled preventive maintenance (PM) work and close work orders.
- Able to troubleshoot in a fast-paced environment.
- Possess mechanical and electrical experience.
- Able to handle multiple tasks and prioritize according to business needs.
- Demonstrate good communication skills, both written and verbal, and complete shift reports with accurate information.
WORK EXPERIENCE
- Minimum 5 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of SAP is an asset.
- Basic knowledge of Allen Bradley PLCs.
- Knowledge of electrical circuits and power supplies, gearboxes, motors, and pneumatics.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- Licensed Electrician - required.
- Millwright and Electrical Trade designation.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
ESSENTIAL CAPABILITIES (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES)
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, use hands and arms to reach, push, pull, lift, carry, and manipulate materials and tools, walk, stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb stairs frequently throughout the shift, reach, bend, twist, rotate, push, and pull frequently, work independently as well as a team, and climb ladders.
- Ability to work rotating shifts and overtime if required.
- Must be able to perform tasks while wearing PPE such as protective footwear, clothing, safety glasses/goggles, etc.
