Qualifications

As a Mechanical Technician, you will install, maintain, repair, and troubleshoot industrial machinery and equipment, ensuring efficient operation of the pilot plant.

Responsibilities
  • Assemble and install equipment, testing to ensure proper functioning.
  • Maintain and repair equipment to minimize downtime.
  • Identify and repair issues by testing, repairing, and replacing parts.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance to address potential issues.
  • Operate various equipment and systems.

Qualifications
  • At least 2 years of post-apprenticeship experience maintaining small industrial equipment.
  • Valid Alberta Journeyperson or Interprovincial Red Seal Certificate in Millwright, Pipefitter, Steamfitter, or HVAC.
  • Strong safety mindset with knowledge of WHMIS and OH&S regulations.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work at shoulder level with 25-pound equipment.
  • Mechanical aptitude with hand tools, power tools, forklifts, etc.
  • Ability to read technical documents such as specifications, manuals, P&ID’s.
  • Knowledge of maintenance, preventative and predictive maintenance, troubleshooting small equipment.
  • Excellent mathematical skills and attention to detail.
