Job description

General Summary

The Rope Access - NDE Technician is responsible for performing standard rope access operations under the supervision of an authorized Level 3 rope access supervisor. The technician will use industrial rope access methods and equipment to access and complete inspection, maintenance, and other industrial tasks in challenging access areas. Candidates must be physically capable, possess good communication skills, and be able to learn quickly. Responsibilities may include rescue operations, technical reporting, and administrative duties. Work hours, locations, shifts, and assignments vary, and travel may be necessary.

Essential Job Functions
  1. Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy environment by adhering to safety standards and practices, and alerting others to hazards.
  2. Perform duties as assigned, aligning with TEAM's Core Values and Critical Choices.
  3. Use appropriate personal protective equipment.
  4. Follow directions from Rope Access Supervisor or Lead Technician.
  5. Respect heights and comply with OSHA and site safety procedures.
  6. Understand work permits and participate in hazard analyses.
  7. Engage in required training and maintain knowledge of safe rope access practices.
  8. Follow TEAM rope access policies and Code of Practice.
  9. Inspect and verify the safety of rope access systems before use.
  10. Identify hazards and report unsafe conditions to the supervisor.
  11. Maintain rescue proficiency and assist in rescues as certified.
Job Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 18 years old.
  • IRATA or SPRAT certification.
  • NDT/NDE certification preferred.
  • Willingness to travel.
  • Ability to work at heights.
Work Conditions
  • Outdoor work in varying weather conditions.
  • Interaction with crew, supervisors, and clients.
  • Work around machinery with high noise levels.
  • Wear safety equipment as required.
  • Potential for multiple sites and climate changes.
  • Periodic out-of-town travel.
Physical and Mental Requirements
  • Lift and carry up to 75 pounds.
  • Perform physical activities like climbing, lifting, balancing, and walking.
  • Move and set up inspection equipment (up to 50 lbs).
  • Work on ladders, scaffolding, and at heights exceeding 100 ft.
  • Extended hours and standing periods.
  • Work in extreme temperatures and industrial hazards.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Mobility and reflexes for office and travel duties.
  • Maintain focus and multitask effectively.
  • Exhibit responsible behavior.
  • Meet IRATA/SPRAT certification standards.
