Job description

Our GFL Emergency Response division is seeking Emergency Response Technicians to join our team in Kitchener, ON. We are looking for responsible and reliable candidates to provide emergency response support for our organization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct environmental clean-up activities.
• Mitigate hazardous-material incidents.
• Perform chemical transfers.
• Engage in technical rescue activities.
• Participate in chemical firefighting tasks.
• Provide dangerous goods consulting.
• Participate in various industrial services.
• Respond to emergencies as required.
• Attend job-specific and health & safety training.
• Operate in an efficient and safe manner.
• Participate in standby confined space rescue work.
• Complete documentation and reporting related to work performed.
• Follow organizational policies and procedures.

Organizational Support and Safety:

• Support the organization’s vision and values.
• Promote a work environment free of harassment and violence.
• Perform work safely to protect oneself and others.
• Report hazards, accidents, or risks.
• Adhere to relevant safety legislation and policies.
