A leading cannabis company in Comox, BC, seeks a Technician, Breeding & Genetics Co-op student to assist in laboratory and greenhouse operations. This role includes molecular lab work, plant phenotyping, and contributing to research projects. JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Technician, Breeding & Genetics Co-op student to join our team at Aurora Coast, our cannabis breeding and research facility located in beautiful Comox, BC. This role offers hands-on experience in both laboratory and greenhouse settings, supporting a range of breeding and molecular biology research activities. The Technician, Breeding & Genetics Co-op student will support plant phenotyping, molecular lab work, and greenhouse operations. This includes tasks such as DNA/RNA extraction, genotyping, sample preparation, plant care, and cultivation monitoring. The student will also participate in data entry, statistical analysis, and interpretation of research results, gaining exposure to biotechnology tools and breeding strategies relevant to crop improvement. This is a unique opportunity to develop technical skills, contribute to meaningful research projects, and learn within a collaborative, innovative environment.
