Job summary

Dynacare is seeking a Technician to join the Laboratory Health Services Centre. You will obtain quality blood samples and other specimens from patients, and perform routine tests in a team environment, contributing to accurate results and a positive patient experience.

The role requires graduation from a Laboratory Technician program or equivalent, with phlebotomy experience and strong attention to detail. Eligible candidates should be able to work Monday to Friday on a 37.5-hour week.

Job Summary

As aTechnician, you will be responsible for obtaining quality blood samples and other specimens from patients, as well as conducting other patient tests, all in keeping with Dynacare’s mission and values. Working as part of a team, you will assist in building a positive team environment, maintaining quality metrics and creating the ideal customer experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Performs a variety of routine laboratory procedures to obtain data for use in the diagnosis and treatment of disease.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Obtains venous and capillary blood specimens.
• Performs all routine procedures, such as urinecollections,specimen preparations.
• Followsall guidelines forhandling ofinfectious materials.
• Maintainsaccuraterecords for all test and control results.
• Prepares QC statistical reports onmonthlybasis.
• Performs routine equipment maintenance andcalibrations.
• Required toobserveall safety precautions in the performance of all duties.
• Other duties as assigned.

SKILLED KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS

1. Graduate of a Laboratory Technician program or equivalentpreviousexperience.
2. Medical terminology an asset.

Technical Skills
