We help the world run better

At SAP, we enable you to bring out your best. Our company culture is focused on collaboration and a shared passion to help the world run better. How? We focus every day on building the foundation for tomorrow and creating a workplace that embraces differences, values flexibility, and is aligned to our purpose-driven and future-focused work. We offer a highly collaborative, caring team environment with a strong focus on learning and development, recognition for your individual contributions, and a variety of benefit options for you to choose from.

About the team:

The Business Technology Platform Experience (BTPX) team is an integral part of SAP’s global Product and Engineering Team. In BTPX HANA we’re a blended team of writers and UX designers. We develop user-centric designs and clear, comprehensive help, and enablement content for our SAP HANA Cloud users. Our user assistance deliverables include programming guides, user guides, administration guides, tutorials, and more. We work closely with other User Assistance Developers, User Experience Developers, and Software Developers to ensure that our customers can fully leverage our software for their business needs.

What you’ll do:

In this role, you’ll be responsible for:

  • Planning, researching, and writing the documentation (such as context-sensitive help, user guides) required by SAP’s customers.
  • Leading the implementation of features at early product stages using SAP’s harmonized product operating model.
  • Providing product feedback to the HANA Development team.
  • Editing user interface texts to ensure usability and product standards.
  • Leveraging AI to improve documentation and team processes to move SAP's AI strategy forward.
  • Help the team drive innovation in the UA/UX space, stretching the boundaries of classical product documentation with innovative use of in-app help, usage analytics, AI, and co-creation processes.
  • Review technical design documents and test feature implementations in the software.
  • Work as part of a writing team where you adhere to a common style and work with other writers to write, edit, and review documentation.
  • Write in a DITA XML environment.

Who you are:

We’re looking for someone who takes initiative, perseveres, and stays curious. You like to work on meaningful innovative projects and are energized by lifelong learning.

Technical writing requires core skills including curiosity, research ability, communication, collaboration, logic, and information management. We use multiple tools and methods of communicating and sharing information. To successfully complete documentation tasks, be curious and develop your research practices.

Required skills:

  • University degree in Business, English, Computer Science, Design, Communication Studies or similar
  • Experience with XML authoring tools and GitHub
  • Familiarity in relational database technologies
  • Knowledge of accepted technical writing principles and practices
  • Excellent business English, writing, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
  • Reliability with a strong ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
  • Ability to provide and apply feedback effectively
