Job summary

KF Aerospace seeks a Technical Writer to maintain and update manuals and develop new documents for current and future design projects. You will produce OEM maintenance manuals, illustrated parts catalogs, flight manuals, and service bulletins, and create supplements for modifications.

Requirements include avionics experience, ability to interpret OEM docs, working from engineering drawings, and familiarity with ATA 100 and SGML. Strong organization and deadline discipline are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience with avionics and aerospace publication workflows.
• Ability to convert OEM avionics documentation into maintenance manuals.
• Work from engineering drawings and wiring diagrams to produce manuals and catalogs.
• Produce illustrated parts catalog databases and linked Acrobat publications.

Responsibilities

• Produce OEM manual updates for the Convair CV580 including maintenance manuals, illustrated parts catalogues, flight manuals, and service bulletins.
• Create stand-alone supplements to support modifications and installations on various aircraft types.
• Maintain records of publications production and revision status.

Salary Range: $74,580.00 To $93,225.00 Annually

JOB OVERVIEW

The Technical Writer is responsible for maintaining/updating various KF Aerospace manuals and the development of new and supplemental documents for current and future design projects.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Produce OEM manual updates for the Convair CV580 airplane that include: Maintenance Manuals, Illustrated Parts Catalogues, Flight Manuals, and Service Bulletins
• Produce stand-alone supplements to support modification/installations on various aircraft types
• Maintain good records of publications production
• Maintain control of manual revision status

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Knowledge & Skills

• Avionics experience would be a definite asset
• Work from engineering drawings, wiring diagrams and other source data
• Interpret OEM avionic documentation into usable text for maintenance and operational manuals
• Use Access to produce illustrated parts catalogue databases
• Use illustration software for annotating illustrated parts list and other illustrations
• Familiar with ATA 100 and other aerospace publication specifications
• Familiarity with SGML documentation an asset
• Produce linked documents in Acrobat for intranet publication

SALARY

The wage band is KF level 9 $74,580-$93,225. The expertise and technical skill level of the candidate is assessed during the selection process for placement within the band. Note: The salary range maximum signifies full job knowledge.
