As a Technical Trainer at Finning, you'll have the opportunity to design and deliver impactful training programs for Caterpillar products. The expected salary range for this position is between $110,000 - $120,000 annually. This range reflects our commitment to providing competitive compensation aligned with industry standards and your qualifications. Actual offers will depend on experience, qualifications, and fit. Job Description:
- Develop and deliver effective training using various methods, including hands-on training and technical documents.
- Coordinate movement of engines and training aids, confirm classroom space, and provide cost quotes for customer training.
- Complete necessary paperwork for data entry in the training database.
- Assist the service department with diagnostics and troubleshooting of equipment malfunctions.
- Schedule and deliver quality training as required.
- Maintain strong relationships with Customer Service Managers, Service Technicians, Technical Communicators, and Caterpillar training personnel.
- Ensure all training meets participant, Finning, and Caterpillar expectations and needs.
- Maintain current knowledge of all new products.
- Develop agendas, objectives, exams, course manuals, and presentation materials.
- Provide feedback and support to trainees to ensure their success and development.
Qualifications:
- 5 to 10 years of related experience with heavy equipment service (HET or Electrician).
- Deep knowledge of Caterpillar engines and equipment systems.
- Ability to use adult learning techniques and strong public speaking skills.
- Excellent time management, prioritization, and problem-solving skills.
- Organizational and customer service skills.
- Proficiency with MS Office and internal systems.
- Clear communication skills adaptable to different audiences.
- Self-motivated with a willingness to learn and influence others.
- Travel required (up to 50-60%).

- This role is based in British Columbia (Kamloops, Surrey, Prince George), Alberta (Fort McMurray, Edmonton, Calgary), or Saskatchewan (Saskatoon, Regina).
- Permanent, full-time position with multiple shifts available (5x2, 7x7, 14x14).
