The Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and tech-savvy Technical Support Officer to provide operational and technical support within a dynamic school environment. You will work closely with lecturers and students across various specialized ICT labs to ensure smooth delivery of academic programmes and projects.
Your responsibilities will include:
Supporting lecturers with software/hardware setup, testing, and troubleshooting for lessons and student projects.
Managing and monitoring physical and virtual lab systems to ensure optimal performance.
Installing, configuring, and maintaining operating systems and relevant applications.
Maintaining and operating specialized lab equipment, ensuring readiness for academic and R&D purposes.
Performing general upkeep and ensuring compliance with safety procedures in all labs.
Providing technical support across key labs, including AI, Cybersecurity, Cloud, XR, and Data Analytics.
Ensuring high system availability by conducting routine health checks and resolving incidents swiftly.
Carrying out fire safety inspections and supporting lab safety compliance initiatives.
Managing IT equipment inventory and facilitating IT loan services.
Assisting in procurement and asset tracking in line with regulatory guidelines.
What Are We Looking For?
We’re looking for a proactive team player with a passion for IT support and hands-on lab operations in a learning environment.
Ideal candidates will have:
A Diploma or Higher NITEC/NITEC in Cybersecurity, Cloud Computing, AI, IT, Data Science, or related fields.
Prior experience in IT support, preferably in ITIL-based helpdesk operations.
Familiarity with tools and platforms such as CCNA, VMware, Microsoft Azure, AWS, Docker, GitHub/GitLab, Tableau, UiPath, or Palo Alto is a plus.
A willingness to support students and faculty in a dynamic academic setting.
Experience of operating lab equipment or similar technical environments.
Basic knowledge of safety and compliance in lab or school environments.
Able to adapt quickly to new technologies and processes.
Experience in managing data centers, virtualized servers, and IT lab environments, with strong skills in OS configuration, troubleshooting, network services, cloud infrastructure, DevOps practices, automation tools, and cybersecurity solutions.
