The Role:
We are looking for a hands-on and resourceful Technical Support Officer to provide technical support for teaching and research activities in a creative and fast-paced arts, media, and design learning environment.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Support lecturers and students with technical needs in areas such as sound, game design, interactive media, and digital arts.

  • Oversee the daily operations of multimedia labs, ensuring all IT-AV systems and equipment are clean, functional, and up to date.

  • Manage the booking, issuance, return, and inspection of AV equipment including cameras, lighting, and audio gear.

  • Perform routine maintenance, minor repairs, and software updates on Windows and Mac systems.

  • Coordinate with vendors and contractors for equipment servicing and support.

  • Track equipment loans and inventory using the resource management system.

  • Oversee procurement, stocktaking, and license renewals of lab software and assets.

  • Coordinate the delivery of newly procured items and maintain accurate asset records.

  • Generate usage reports for labs and ensure follow-ups on equipment servicing.

  • Administer labs in line with safety, quality, and environmental standards, including WSH guidelines.

What Are We Looking For?
We are seeking someone who is passionate about supporting digital arts and multimedia education with a proactive and solution-oriented attitude.

Ideal candidates will have:

  • A Diploma or Higher NITEC/NITEC in Digital Multimedia, Sonic Arts, Technology and Arts Management, Multimedia & Infocomm Technology, or related fields.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Mac applications such as Pro Tools, Adobe Creative Suite, and related multimedia software.

  • Strong troubleshooting and technical support skills for AV and multimedia equipment.

  • Experience working in a support role in labs or studios is an advantage.

  • A team player mindset with a willingness to collaborate with lecturers and students.

  • Familiarity with lab equipment maintenance, firmware/software updates, and basic repairs.

  • Experience in asset tracking, equipment procurement, or stocktaking processes.

  • Knowledge of institutional safety and environmental policies is a plus.
