Role Overview

The Support Engineer will provide high-quality technical assistance for Juniper Networks' Switching products, including hardware and software support, configuration, and troubleshooting of networking equipment, servers, and clients. Some weekend work, onsite troubleshooting, and travel may be required.

Responsibilities
  • Document and reproduce customer problems; coordinate fixes with engineering; troubleshoot hardware/software issues; facilitate communication for bug fixes and workarounds.
  • Mentor new and existing support engineers; provide training on new products and services.
  • Serve as escalation point for difficult issues; work directly with Engineering as needed.
  • Participate in product marketing and support readiness projects.
  • Work with partners, vendors, and customers to create FAQs; document actions in tracking database; develop knowledge base content.
  • Support global support teams, including handling escalations, with some weekend and onsite work.
Basic Qualifications
  • At least 4 years supporting Data Center and Enterprise networks.
  • Deep knowledge of IP networking (TCP/IP, Ethernet, VLANs, OSPF, BGP, MPLS, EVPN/VxLAN, etc.).
    • EVPN/VxLAN experience highly desired.
  • Experience with switches, routers, Unix/Linux, traffic generators, scripting in Shell and Python.
  • Strong communication skills; network storage experience preferred.
  • B.S. or higher in Computer Science, Telecommunications, or equivalent experience.
