Job description

Summit Search Group is excited to work with Metric Marketing to recruit their next Technical Strategist. Metric Marketing is a results-driven marketing agency that blends strategic insight with data, design, and development to craft high-impact marketing solutions. Their team includes a passionate mix of creatives, developers, strategists, and marketers who work together to help clients across North America elevate their brands, connect with audiences, and deliver measurable results.

The Position:

The Technical Strategist plays a central role in connecting marketing strategy with digital execution. This position is ideal for someone who thrives on problem-solving, loves working with data and web technologies, and understands the role of digital infrastructure in driving performance. Working collaboratively with internal teams and clients, the Technical Strategist ensures that digital assets—from websites to analytics—are aligned with marketing goals, optimized for results, and scalable for growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop digital strategies that align with client marketing goals, including web architecture, SEO/SEM, analytics tracking, and digital tool integration.
  • Support the development of website and digital product strategies from a technical perspective, identifying opportunities to enhance performance and efficiency.

Analytics & Reporting

  • Oversee the implementation and optimization of analytics tools such as Google Analytics (GA4), Tag Manager, and Data Studio.
  • Analyze performance data, create reports, and present actionable insights to internal teams and clients.
  • Establish KPI tracking frameworks to measure campaign and web performance.

Technical SEO & Optimization

  • Conduct SEO audits and monitor site performance to improve crawlability, site speed, and search visibility.
  • Implement structured data, technical tags, and best practices to support organic growth.
  • Collaborate with strategists, designers, developers, and media specialists to guide digital solutions from concept to execution.
  • Communicate technical concepts clearly to clients and non-technical team members, supporting their understanding of digital infrastructure and strategy.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues and support project planning with solution-focused recommendations.

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education in a relevant field such as Marketing, Computer Science, or Digital Media.
  • 2+ years of experience in digital marketing, technical strategy, or web analytics.
  • Proficiency with platforms such as Google Analytics, Tag Manager, Data Studio, and search console tools.
  • Knowledge of SEO, site performance tools (e.g., SEMrush, Screaming Frog), and digital campaign measurement.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate technical insights to a broad range of stakeholders.
  • Organized, curious, and comfortable managing multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
