Cansel helps clients capture, transform, and manage data, leading to increased field-to-finish efficiency and profitability.

Position Summary

Cansel is the largest Trimble re-seller in Canada. As one of Cansel's Engineering Account Managers (sales), you will need drive and enthusiasm to sell this equipment. You will be on the road at least one week per month. We are seeking someone with surveyor or engineering/surveying experience; sales training will be provided.

In this role you will...

  • Estimate or quote prices, credit or contract terms, trade-in allowances, warranties, and delivery dates
  • Oversee the preparation of sales and orders
  • Prepare sales or other contracts
  • Promote sales to existing clients
  • Read blueprints to determine dimensions and material requirements
  • Identify and solicit potential clients
  • Assess clients' needs and resources to recommend appropriate goods or services
  • Develop reports and proposals to demonstrate benefits of products or services
  • Deliver sales presentations
  • Represent companies in import/export activities
  • Conduct sales transactions and prepare contracts
  • Manage sales via Internet-based e-commerce
  • Provide input into product design based on client needs
  • Follow up with clients post-sale for ongoing support
  • Review market conditions and product innovations
  • Train customers' staff on equipment operation and maintenance
  • Resolve product and service-related issues
  • Promote products and services
  • Supervise technical sales staff activities

About you...

Must have surveyor or engineering (AEC) industry experience. Energetic self-starter with entrepreneurial spirit and sales drive. Ability to recommend and sell products based on customer needs. Excellent communication, computer skills, and willingness to travel 40-60% of the time.

Skills include proficiency with Salesforce, email, spreadsheets, MS Office suite, hardware, and parts specialization. Experience in construction materials, tools, and equipment sales is preferred.

Bonus points

  • Post-secondary degree/diploma in Construction, Survey, Civil Engineering, or Geomatics, or equivalent experience
  • Experience in outside sales in the AEC industry
  • Familiarity with CRMs like Salesforce
