Job summary

The Player Lab YYC in Calgary is seeking a passionate Technical Soccer Coach for a contract hourly role. You will lead dynamic, small-group and individual sessions, focusing on technical skill development, ball mastery and decision making.

You will assess players, deliver constructive feedback, and create a positive, high-energy environment aligned with our development philosophy. Valid coaching licenses and a vulnerable sector check are required.

Qualifications

• Active coaching licenses (CSA, UEFA, Coerver) or equivalent.
• Background in session planning and progressive youth development.
• Background check (Vulnerable Sector) required.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver high-quality technical training sessions for individuals and small groups.
• Demonstrate techniques focusing on ball mastery, passing, receiving, and 1v1.
• Assess players, provide real-time feedback, and track progress over time.
• Maintain a safe, inclusive, high-energy training environment.
• Communicate growth goals with players and parents.

Role overview

We are seeking passionate, detail-driven Technical Soccer Coaches to lead dynamic, small-group and individual training sessions. You will be responsible for session delivery, player assessment, and creating a high-energy environment aligned with our development philosophy.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver high-quality technical training sessions tailored to individual and small-group needs.
• Demonstrate techniques clearly, focusing on ball mastery, passing, receiving, and 1v1 execution.
• Assess player abilities, provide constructive real-time feedback, and track individual progress over time.
• Maintain a safe, inclusive, positive, and high-energy training environment.
• Communicate professionally with players and parents regarding growth and training goals.

Qualifications

• Technical Skill: Strong ability to accurately demonstrate and explain high-level technical skills and ball mastery.
• Coaching Experience: Proven background in session planning and progressive player development for youth athletes.
• Communication: Exceptional interpersonal skills to motivate players and build positive relationships with families.
• Certifications: Active coaching licenses (CSA, UEFA, Coerver, or equivalent) and competitive playing/coaching experience are strongly preferred.
• Requirements: Valid background check ("Vulnerable Sector Check") required.
