As a Technical Service Representative (TSR) focused on Oilsands Shovels, you’ll play a critical role in supporting the performance, reliability, and uptime of Caterpillar electric rope and hydraulic shovels. You’ll be the trusted technical advisor to our mining customers—delivering proactive service, technical insights, and timely solutions to keep their operations running smoothly.

Job Description:
- Schedule and conduct regular customer visits, set agendas, and provide daily technical reports.
- Liaise with the Finning Parts Department to ensure timely delivery of required components.
- Minimize equipment downtime and support production targets through proactive service.
- Conduct technical audits and provide detailed analysis and service recommendations.
- Advise customers on component replacements based on machine condition and performance data.
- Maintain open communication with internal departments including parts, service, and technical support.
- Rapidly escalate machine-down situations to appropriate teams for immediate resolution.
- Recommend safety solutions and identify opportunities for SIF (Serious Injury or Fatality) mitigation.
- Build and maintain a technical issue library to support long-term service planning.
- Ensure most of your time is customer-facing, delivering hands-on support and relationship management.
Qualifications:
- Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician (HET), Millwright, or equivalent mechanical trade certification is an asset.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a customer-facing technical service role.
- Strong troubleshooting background with proven ability to diagnose and resolve mechanical issues.
- Experience working with Caterpillar electric rope and hydraulic shovels is required.
- Solid understanding of mining operations and equipment performance requirements.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving abilities.
- Comfortable working independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and basic computer applications.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to access Oilsands customer sites.
- Must provide and maintain a satisfactory driver’s abstract.

- This position is based out of our Fort McMurray office location.
- Camp and accommodations are provided for those living outside of Fort McMurray.
- Permanent, full-time role.
- Hybrid role, with the ability to work from home 1 day per week once trained.
- Continuous rotation, 14 x 14 schedule.
- Some travel required for the role (up to 10%).
