Reports to: Sales and Sector Category Manager - West

Direct Reports: N/A

Location: Alberta (Hybrid)

Purpose Statement

Consistently achieve or surpass annual sales and gross margin targets through strong performance and a focus on exceptional customer service.

Serve as a knowledgeable resource for our Geotechnical and Petroleum testing products, with a commitment to delivering outstanding product support.

Principal Accountabilities

Purpose & Values: Live and demonstrate the company’s purpose and values anchored around delivering an excellent customer experience with integrity, respect, and continuous improvement while fulfilling your potential.

Shadow existing sales personnel for training and onboarding

Meet or exceed assigned sales and gross margin targets in assigned territory

Execute the communicated sales strategy to drive revenue growth and achieve departmental and organizational business objectives.

Provide technical expertise to customers, addressing inquiries and offering solutions.

Effectively communicate the technical features and benefits of products.

Stay updated on product knowledge, industry regulations, and market trends., as well as acquire better selling skills

Strive to implement the “Action selling" model to foster a customer-centric, Develop new customer connections, and expand the customer base.

Reporting includes:

Effective communication with the Sales and Sector Category Manager, other sales team members, as well as purchasing, finance, warehouse, service, and rental team members

Demonstrated ability and willingness to learn and master internal software tools such as Business Central, QuoteWerks, and proprietary pricing systems.

Sales and related monthly forecasting and report generation

Strive to manage sales territory in a planned and organized manner as approved by the Sales Manager, including:

Cultivate and maintain support and strong relationships with existing customers.

Pipeline growth. Develop new customer connections and expand the customer base using tools such as Apollo

Contribute to the development of strategies for market expansion and new market penetration

Identify and explore new markets and opportunities for the company’s products.

Learn other departments product lines to aid in cross-selling initiatives

Strive to provide “hands-on” after-service support as needed.

Stay informed about industry trends, technological advancements, and competitive products and opportunities to onboard new vendors

Gather and analyze customer feedback to contribute to product and service improvement.

Provide insights and suggestions for enhancing customer satisfaction.

Working Conditions

Environment: Combination of office-based and work in the field, meeting clients, and attending conferences.

Disruption to Lifestyle:Regular overnight travel required up to 30%.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor of Applied Science in Engineering or Technologist 3-year Degree preferably in Petroleum Engineering, chemistry or related discipline; equivalent relevant work experience will also be considered. Business Administration, Sales, Marketing, or technical discipline related to the Geotechnical industry, engineering is an advantage.

Work Experience: 3-5 years in technical sales

Experience with Petroleum testing instrumentation will be given preference

Varied software experience, data acquisition, Office 365

Provide regular updates on sales performance, challenges, and opportunities to the Sales and Sector Category Manager - West.

Build and maintain strong Customer relationships, understanding their unique requirements and providing expert advice on instrumentation solutions.

Collaborate with technical Sales Associates and Product Specialists to stay updated on the latest product developments, features, and applications.

Coordinate with the Service & Warehouse team to ensure timely delivery, installation, and maintenance of instruments for customers.

Represent Hoskin Scientific Group at Industry Events, Conferences, and Trade Shows to network with potential partners, build brand visibility, and identify new business prospects.
