Technical QA Engineer Job Responsibilities – Quality Assurance & Automation Testing

As a member of a dynamic development team, the Technical QA Engineer will play a key role in the detailed verification and validation of next-generation optical edge transport modules. This individual will help drive quality assurance by designing comprehensive test coverage, implementing automation, validating results, and creating robust documentation to ensure Exposant 3 delivers high quality and reliable solutions.

Main Tasks – Test Plan Design, Automation, and Reporting

• Design and implement test plans and strategies for complete characterization of optical interface products.
• Execute comprehensive test cycles to evaluate product and equipment performance against design requirements.
• Document testing progress, results analysis, and support investigations to resolve technical issues efficiently.
• Develop, execute, and maintain automated test scripts to improve quality and reliability.
• Innovate and explore new methods for software verification and validation.
• Continuously optimize test automation frameworks and contribute to QA process improvement.
• Review technical design documentation throughout development and verification cycles.
• Provide product and software feature training to cross-functional teams.
• Maintain and support testing environments to ensure readiness for QA activities.

Required Skills And Experience – Optical Networking QA & Automation

• Bachelor's degree in Computer / Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline.
• Minimum 5+ years of experience in optical transport product verification and test automation.
• Hands-on experience with Optical WDM software, hardware, and end-to-end system testing.
• Proficiency with testing management software for optical Transponders / Muxponders, including experience with ROADM.
• Familiarity with optical Ethernet / OTN test sets such as EXFO, Viavi and Ixia.
• Strong experience with NMS (Network Management System) testing using protocols like NETCONF / RESTCONF and SNMP.
• Solid understanding of NETCONF / RESTCONF XML / JSON-based syntax, schema, and validation.
• Proven experience in Layer 1, Layer 2, and Layer 3 protocol testing and verification.
• Demonstrated ability to develop, execute, and maintain automated regression tests.
• Working knowledge of software version control systems such as Git or SVN.
• Good knowledge of Linux and Microsoft operating systems.
• Experience with software defect tracking tools (JIRA, Bugzilla, or similar).
• Exceptional organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to learn and apply new technologies quickly and effectively.
• Collaborative attitude and ability to work across different functions and teams.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
