Job description

As a Technical Project Manager within the Technology Team at Noise Digital, you will be responsible for leading and coordinating complex technical projects for a growing development team, ensuring successful delivery through effective planning, execution, and stakeholder management.

What you'll do

The Technical Project Manager will work under a Project Management Office (PMO) structure and in tandem with other Technical Project Managers, Account Managers, and Account Directors across Noise Digital to oversee the successful delivery of technology projects by ensuring standardized and efficient planning, monitoring, and execution of technology projects across the department. With a strong understanding of marketing technologies and data analytics, this role will provide support in standing up technical projects from start to finish, including initial intake, defining and implementing the correct methodology, integrating and managing the SMEs, building project timelines and approach, defining and managing budget, and ensuring deliverables meet acceptance criteria, all while adhering to project management processes and best practices.

This role will be responsible for collaborating with the PMO (Sr. Analytics Project and Operations Manager) and the client’s product and / or brand teams to translate their needs into technical project scopes, to be executed by the Technology. This role will be responsible for managing project deliverables, acting as the connector between client and development teams, and ensuring projects are delivered on time, on budget, and within the standard of excellence the Technology Team is committed to delivering.

What you'll need to bring

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans, schedules, and budgets for technical projects.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Noise subject matter experts (developers, strategists, client services) to define project scope, requirements, and deliverables.
  • Collaborate with Account Managers, Account Directors, and / or PMO to draft, review, and finalize Statements of Work (SOWs).
  • Collaborate with external stakeholders to ensure project alignment with business goals and effective communication.
  • Manage project timelines, resources, and risks, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, whilst maintaining adherence to operational processes and standards.
  • Implement and oversee project management methodologies, including Agile (Scrum, Kanban) and Waterfall approaches as project requirements dictate.
  • Facilitate project kick-offs and collaborate with stakeholders, including senior leadership, to ensure project alignment with business goals and effective communication.
  • Facilitate regular status meeting cadences, including internal stand-ups, external client statuses, demos, and retrospectives.
  • Manage projects via the Noise Project Management System (Asana), including project plans, resource assignment, and task management.
  • Handle, maintain, and control relevant project information including project documentation; statement of work, project estimates, RACI or RACSI matrix, dependencies, project plan, activity schedule; risk identification & management plan; communication & change management plan.
  • Review, QA, and validate technical deliverables, including but not limited to, technical documentation and end user guides.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks, escalating issues as necessary and proposing solutions within the project team and to client.
  • Facilitate change requests in the event of major impact on scope, schedule, resourcing, and budget.
  • Foster a collaborative and productive team environment, providing guidance and support to project team members.
  • Provide feedback to PMO on continuous improvements to existing project management processes and practices, incorporating lessons learned and best practices.
  • Promote a collaborative and inclusive work environment, encouraging cross-functional teamwork and knowledge sharing.
  • Represent the Technology Team in cross-functional meetings and initiatives, advocating for technology needs and requirements.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience working in project management delivering complex, cross-functional technical projects.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field (business, marketing, computer science, analytics, engineering), or equivalent experience.
  • PMI, SAFe Agile, and / or Scrum Master certification is an asset.
  • Strong understanding of Agile and Waterfall methodologies, and the ability to adapt to different project management approaches.
  • Knowledge of software development methodologies and best practices (e.g., Scrum, Kanban, Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment).
  • Familiarity with cloud computing platforms and technologies (e.g., Google Cloud Platform, AWS).
  • Experience with data analysis and reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, Looker).
  • Proven track record of successfully delivering complex technology projects and managing cross-functional teams.
  • Experience in the analytics industry, demonstrating a solid understanding of data analysis, visualization, and related tools.
  • Self-managed with the ability to independently apply analytical and problem-solving skills, identifying and resolving project issues with minimal oversight.
  • Experience working with multi-year projects helping to drive long-term growth and establishing trusted partnerships.
  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall) and industry best practices.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
  • Proficient in project management tools and software (e.g., Asana, Monday.com).
  • Ability to think strategically and drive operational excellence through process improvement and innovation.
  • Fiscal management skills within the context of client projects and campaigns, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost optimization.
  • Proactively initiates, develops, and maintains effective and cooperative relationships with a wide array of personalities and team members. Displays conscientiousness and service towards others.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven problem-solving abilities and strategic thinking.
