The role requires strong communication, risk management, and technical coordination across PLM, CAD, CAM, MES, and related Siemens software solutions.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

Designfusion is seeking a Technical Project Manager to manage customer software implementation and consulting projects from kickoff through completion.The role will support projects involving enterprise engineering and manufacturing software, including PLM, CAD, CAM, simulation, and related Siemens Digital Industries Software solutions.

The Technical Project Manager will coordinate customers, consultants, developers, technical leads, and management to ensure projects are delivered on schedule, within scope, within budget, and at acceptable profitability.

Key Responsibilities

• Project Delivery: Manage software implementation, integration, migration, upgrade, customization, and consulting projects from kickoff through completion.
• SOW & Scope Control: Ensure project work remains aligned with the Statement of Work, identify scope creep early, and manage change requests and change orders.
• Resource Scheduling: Coordinate consultants, developers, architects, and other technical resources across multiple concurrent projects.
• Budget & Hours Management: Track billable hours, project budgets, burn rates, remaining effort, and project profitability.
• Client Management: Act as the primary project contact, lead status meetings, communicate progress, and manage customer expectations.
• Project Planning: Maintain schedules, milestones, deliverables, dependencies, action items, and resource requirements.
• Risk Management: Identify technical, scheduling, resource, and commercial risks early and drive resolution or escalation.
• Technical Coordination: Work closely with technical leads to understand requirements, dependencies, infrastructure constraints, and implementation risks.
• Change Management: Ensure additional or out-of-scope work is documented, estimated, approved, and commercially addressed before proceeding.
• Project Closeout: Confirm deliverables, customer acceptance, outstanding issues, and financial completion of the project.

Required Qualifications

• 2+ years of project management experience in software implementation, systems integration, enterprise software, or IT consulting.
• Experience working in a professional services and customer-facing technical environment.
• Strong understanding of SOWs, project budgets, billable hours, resource planning, change management, and project profitability.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and competing resource requirements simultaneously.
• Sufficient technical knowledge to work effectively with developers, consultants, solution architects, IT teams, and engineering organizations.
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with project management tools such as Microsoft Project, Jira, Azure DevOps, Monday.com, Smartsheet, or similar.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with PLM, CAD, CAM, MES, ERP, engineering, manufacturing, or enterprise business systems.
• Experience with Siemens Teamcenter, NX, Solid Edge, Tecnomatix, or related Siemens software is an asset.
• Experience managing software migrations, upgrades, integrations, data migrations, or custom development.
• PMP or similar project management certification is an asset but not required.
• Strong ownership and follow-through.
• Commercial awareness and ability to protect project scope and profitability.
• Ability to balance customer expectations with available resources and contractual commitments.
