Role & Context:
We’re looking for a Technical Project Manager with a diverse skill set, who wants to put their passion towards building something that will help people experiencing mobility limitations. We’re seeing rapid market growth and are looking for someone with a unique blend of technical expertise, project management experience, and product vision. You will be instrumental in steering our product to launch through coordinating our multi-disciplinary team of hardware and software developers, while defining product vision and strategy to align our product market fit and company goals. What you’ll be doing at A&K:

1. Coordinating our multi-disciplinary team of engineers, developers, and designers to drive our product launch. This is a technical role, but the most important skills are interpersonal - to help your teammates do great work and be their best selves.
2. Creating a big picture vision and collaborating with great people to turn it into a reality. You will understand the needs of our customers better than they do and will define, gather, and write our requirements for features and long-term projects that our team will execute on.
3. Accelerating new feature development by building and maintaining detailed project plans, coordinating schedules, allocating staff time, and updating schedules. The clear documentation, architecture overviews, and product roadmaps will facilitate efficient and scalable collaboration across the company and with 3^rd party vendors/partners.
4. Anticipating potential project challenges early and proactively devising risk mitigation strategies to support adaptable and smooth project execution in the face of dynamic and uncertain scenarios.
5. Regularly preparing and presenting reports on the progress of initiatives to key stakeholders, including executive leadership.
6. Building and sustaining relationships with essential or strategic partners and suppliers, recognizing both their immediate importance and long-term value to the company's goals.

What you’ll bring to the team:

1. 5+ years’ technical engineering or technical product development experience.
2. 2+ years’ experience leading teams to ship products or software to market in a quick and iterative manner as a Project Manager or similar role.
3. Demonstrated project planning experience, including coordinating schedules, allocating staff time, and creating product or development roadmaps that account for complex task interdependencies.
4. Ability to work on and prioritize multiple simultaneous initiatives, understanding how they are connected and making tradeoffs when necessary.
5. Customer-centric mindset, with an ability to stay clear-minded when adapting and being flexible for a quickly-evolving market.
6. Hands-on experience with basic prototyping, fabrication, manufacturing, or testing/QA.
7. Exceptional problem-solving skills - ability to work within constraints, budgets and think outside the box.
8. Exceptional interpersonal skills – conflict resolution, motivation, mentoring.
9. You take immense pride in your work and pay attention to the smallest details.
10. You take ownership and responsibility for your tasks and actions, and lead by example.
11. Excellent writing skills that demonstrate organization and understanding of the big picture, while enabling you to efficiently and effectively communicate each team member’s work in the context of overall team goals and strategy.
12. Demonstrated aptitude for using Jira or other similar project management software, with an ability to quickly adapt to and master new tools as needed.
13. Bachelor of Computer Science, Engineering, Science, or other technical discipline.

Nice-to-haves:

1. Experience with autonomous mobile robots or self-driving vehicles.
2. Experience with electronics, sensors, firmware, communication protocols, and/or power management.
3. Experience with mechanical design and CAD.
4. Experience with design for manufacturing principles.
5. Experience writing code (preferably C++).
6. Experience with common software development life cycle methodologies such as Agile and CI/CD, and adhering to best practices, including the application of common software design patterns.
