Temporary Full-time for approximately twenty (20) months

HOURS:

Approximately 75.0 Bi-weekly Hours

SHIFTS:

Days / Evenings / Weekends; 7.5 hours per shift (subject to change)

$54.17/hr (Minimum)to $65.66/hr (Maximum)

CLOSING DATE:

The Technical Project Manager is an integral member of the HIS implementation team at the Queensway Carleton Hospital (QCH), working under the direction of the HIS Project Directors. The candidate will work closely with the managers and directors within the Technology Services department, as well as with the HIS project team. The project manager will support the HIS Implementation by leading the implementation of associated third party integration projects, biomedical device integration projects, and other technical projects associated with the broader implementation.

RESPONSBILITIES:

  • Developing project plans for the associated HIS project, in concert with the HIS Project Director.
  • Successfully executing the projects on agreed time, scope, budget and quality including developing objectives, phasing and content of the projects
  • Performing the relevant project management processes - i.e. initiate, plan, execute, monitor and control and close, and the supporting processes e.g. scope, cost, time, issue, risk, resource, communication, stakeholder management ensuring that the required artifacts (e.g. project charter) are delivered and approved appropriately
  • Managing and reporting on schedules, project scope, and overall project organization to ensure requirements and project delivery dates are clearly communicated, understood, and executed upon
  • Planning, monitoring, and managing project change through formal change management processes and stakeholder/customer relationship management including reporting on variances to the approved project baseline and managing the approval or mitigation of these as appropriate
  • Interfacing and communicating with project teams, management, customers and stakeholders including implementing and working through defined governance processes.
  • Leading key project issues and driving them to completion
  • Proactively identifying project risks and issues - leading teams to develop risk management and issue management plans, create and implementing strategies to mitigate shortfalls in timeline and budget
  • Maintaining steady communication with development and/or analytical staff, business customers and management on project progress
  • Closing the project and formalizing acceptance of the project results ensuring that the benefits realization have been achieved or a formal plan is in place to manage these
  • Other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Undergraduate Degree in a related field and a minimum of five (5) years’ experience in IS/IT project management or ten (10) years related commensurate experience in IS/IT project management
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
  • Fluency with Microsoft Office suite, including Microsoft Project
  • Proven experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
  • Demonstrated effective interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills required
  • Strong knowledge of project management best practices and methodologies
  • Proven business analysis and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language
  • Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment

PREFERRED:

  • Experience implementing Electronic Medical Record (EMR) / Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems
  • Experience with biomedical device projects
  • Experience with EPIC
