Become an EXpert as a Project Manager – Embedded Systems

At EX Squared LATAM, we partner with global innovators to deliver high-impact digital solutions across critical industries. We're currently seeking a Project Manager with a strong background in embedded systems and certification-driven software development to join a mission-critical initiative for a U.S.-based client in the technology sector.

This is a unique opportunity for someone who excels at managing complex software projects and enjoys working in fast-paced environments where safety, performance, and reliability are key.

This is a 6-month contract position with strong potential for extension or conversion to permanent.

What You’ll Do
  • Lead embedded software projects from pre-sales discovery through execution, ensuring high-quality and on-time delivery.

  • Act as the primary point of contact for client engagements, maintaining strong alignment with technical and business stakeholders.

  • Collaborate with sales, engineering, and finance teams to develop detailed project proposals, including Statements of Work, risk assessments, cost estimates, and resource plans.

  • Manage day-to-day execution of technically complex initiatives involving real-time or safety-critical systems.

  • Facilitate internal and customer-facing meetings, presenting technical and project updates with clarity and confidence.

  • Monitor and optimize project performance, taking proactive steps to mitigate risks and ensure customer satisfaction.

  • Guide cross-functional project teams and, over time, potentially manage other project managers or engineers.

  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of internal processes and delivery standards.

What You’ll Bring
  • 7+ years of experience managing engineering projects, specifically in embedded systems or real-time OS environments (VxWorks, QNX, RTLinux, etc.).

  • Solid understanding of software certification standards such as DO-178C, IEC 61508, or IEC 62304.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.

  • Strong planning, documentation, and stakeholder management skills, with proven ability to drive cross-functional initiatives.

  • Exceptional communication skills and the ability to lead technical discussions with customers and internal teams.

  • Experience coordinating with international or distributed development teams is a plus.

  • Availability to travel domestically or internationally up to 10% of the time.

Nice to Have
  • Certification in project management (e.g., PMP or similar).

  • Experience in markets such as aerospace, defense, medical devices, or industrial automation.

  • Familiarity with project estimation tools and risk modeling.
