Job Description
Job Duties:
- Under general supervision, uses cementing knowledge and experience to develop the cementing job design to meet customer requirements, including preliminary job calculations, running computer simulations, designing fluid systems, submitting lab test requests, reviewing and approving test results, performing risk assessments, verifying that the design meets regulatory requirements, and providing cost estimates for the planned operation.
- Provides operational expertise, including operational instructions and resource identification required to perform the job.
- Independently performs post-job analysis, offers recommendations for improvement, implements agreed-upon improvements for subsequent jobs, shares learnings with the Cementing Team, and promotes successes by writing, publishing, and presenting case histories and industry papers (e.g., SPE).
- Develops and maintains personal relationships with technical customers in designated areas to effectively sell tailored cement solutions.
- Collaborates with customer office-based drilling and/or production engineers to tailor solutions that meet their requirements and align with Halliburton's commercial expectations, considering both the price and total cost of delivery.
- Sells new technology and processes identified in location-specific performance optimization plans (POP).
- Provides technical support at the well site as required by the customer or PSL.
- Verifies the job design using final job input parameters and engineering tools used initially for design.
- Consults with the PSL Team regarding equipment needs and specifications, verifies resource availability, and ensures compliance with local regulations. Provides chemical and casing equipment forecasts to meet job schedules and maintain inventory targets.
- Performs assignments applying basic engineering and commercial principles.
- Mentors junior members of the Cementing Team.
- Works independently and may provide work direction at the site.
Qualifications:
- Completion of an undergraduate degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math required.
- Minimum of 12 months experience in cementing operations, job design, and technical solutions.
- Must hold a valid driver’s license and provide a driver’s abstract.
Candidates with qualifications exceeding the minimum may be considered for higher roles based on experience, additional requirements, and business needs. Opportunities may include positions like Senior or Principal Technical Professional.
