Technical Product Owner Technology Lead - CAN

Infosys is seeking a Technical Product Owner. The Technical Product Owner is responsible for maximizing the value of the product resulting from the work of the development team. This role involves close collaboration with the Product Manager, Business Owners, and development teams to translate high-level product vision and strategy into actionable user stories and tasks. The Product Owner ensures that the team understands the product requirements and works to deliver high-quality increments that meet business needs. TPOs are needed (instead of POs) where products are highly technical and require frequent tech enablers to drive business features.

Responsibilities
  • Own and manage their assigned team’s user stories within the product backlog, ensuring it is up to date, prioritized, and aligned with the product roadmap and strategic direction set by the Product Manager.
  • Write clear, concise, and actionable user stories with well-defined acceptance criteria.
  • Continuously refine and prioritize the backlog based on stakeholder feedback, business value, and changing requirements.
  • Collaborate with the Product Manager to understand the product vision, strategy, and goals.
  • Engage with Engineering teams, Architects and other stakeholders to gather technical requirements, feedback, and validate stories.
  • Facilitate communication between stakeholders and the development team to ensure alignment.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to engineering teams, ensuring solutions align with product requirements and business goals.
  • Collaborate with Technology Solutions Architects and Integration Engineers to design and implement technically feasible solutions.
  • Review and approve technical designs, ensuring they meet quality standards and align with the product vision.
  • Participate in sprint planning to help the team understand requirements and prioritize tasks.
  • Ensure the development team has a clear understanding of user stories and acceptance criteria; provide timely feedback during sprints.
  • Deliver high-quality product increments that meet defined requirements and are ready for release.
  • Monitor product performance using metrics and KPIs; make data-driven decisions to improve the product.
  • Participate in retrospectives and continuous improvement activities to enhance team performance and product quality.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to inform product decisions.
  • Create and maintain documentation for user stories, features, and product requirements.
  • Communicate progress, risks, and issues to the Product Manager and stakeholders; share information timely with the development team.
  • Collaborate with Product Managers, Engineering Teams, Business Owners, and Technology Solutions Architects to ensure alignment with the overall product vision, architecture, and roadmap.
  • Provide technical leadership throughout the development process and ensure feasible, scalable technical solutions.
  • Engage with cross-functional teams to validate features and ensure alignment with business priorities.
  • Demonstrate experience and ability to work in a global delivery environment; exposure to Azure development projects and AI-related product areas is a plus.
Qualifications
  • Required: Located within commuting distance of Mississauga, Ontario or willing to relocate; travel may be required.
  • Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent; three years of progressive experience in lieu of every year of education may be considered.
  • At least 4 years of Information Technology experience.
  • Authorized to work for any employer in Canada without employer-based visa sponsorship (no immigration sponsorship provided).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Product backlog ownership with up-to-date, prioritized items aligned to the roadmap.
  • Clear user stories with acceptance criteria; backlog refinement based on feedback and business value.
  • Excellent collaboration with Product Manager, Engineers, Architects, and other stakeholders.
  • Technical leadership and guidance across engineering teams; involvement with Architecture and Integration Engineers.
  • Ability to review and approve technical designs; ensure alignment with product vision and quality standards.
  • Active participation in sprint planning and reviews; ensure understanding of requirements and acceptance criteria.
  • Experience with global delivery; exposure to Microsoft Azure development projects, AI products, GitHub Copilot, and related tools are a plus.
  • Certifications: Product Owner certifications (e.g., PSPO, CSPO, SAFe PO/PM) and related Agile practices.

The job entails sitting and working at a computer for extended periods. Must be able to communicate by telephone, email, or face to face. Extensive travel may be required as per client and project needs.

Estimated annual compensation range for Ontario: $89,004 to $115,491.
