Job description

This position supports the United States and Canada customer base. Our team operates across four time zones, with work shifts assigned based on business needs between 8 am - 8 pm ET. This role specifically covers the Eastern Time Zone shift (8-5 ET).

As an Online Technical Support Engineer, you will provide remote post-sales technical support and services to external customers and internal field personnel using diagnostic tools. Responsibilities include reactive problem resolution and proactive preventive actions. You will assist customers with questions regarding Gas Chromatography (GC), Gas Chromatography - Mass Spectroscopy (GC/MS), and Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectroscopy (ICPMS). Experience with GC/SQ and GC/QQQ for GC/MS is required; familiarity with GC/QTOF and ICPMS is a plus, or training will be provided.

Your duties include technical support, remote troubleshooting, consulting, and education via phone, chat, and online platforms. Occasional support of third-party products and customer site visits may be required, along with occasional travel for training.

You will also engage with customers to identify additional revenue opportunities and generate leads for the sales team.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, Microbiology, or a related science field; or equivalent experience and training.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience with Agilent instrumentation, including hardware, software, and applications.
  • 5+ years supporting Gas Chromatography and Atomic Spectroscopy products (GC, GC/MS, ICP-MS).
  • Strong troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills.

The salary range in Canada is CAD 78,000 to 122,000 annually, with bonuses, stock options, and benefits. Salaries are based on role, level, location, skills, experience, and education.
