Job summary

DEPT® is seeking a midweight to senior Creative Automation designer to build scalable After Effects templates and automate asset production. You will work with Lightspeed, our AE extension, to render assets at scale and deliver efficient, repeatable workflows.

You should bring a strong AE portfolio, comfort with expressions and JavaScript basics, and a proactive, collaborative mindset. The role offers a flexible hybrid schedule and opportunities to work with global clients.

Qualifications

• Portfolio demonstrating creative projects with a clear technical aspect.
• Strong understanding of Adobe After Effects.
• Experience writing and using expressions in After Effects.
• Knowledge of the basic principles of JavaScript.
• Interest in third party scripts, plugins and extensions for Adobe software.

JOB PURPOSE

This role is part of our Global Studios team. We create emotive yet conversion-focused ideas, products and campaigns at scale and speed. Our specialty is hyper-personalised, digital communications that change perceptions, shape new behaviours, and shift market share for our clients.

This role is dedicated exclusively to Creative Automation—using technology to produce creative assets at scale. You will be designing and animating templates in Adobe After Effects that integrate with Lightspeed, our proprietary automation engine, to render the assets at scale.

You need to be naturally curious, technically-minded, and eager to experiment. We’re looking for candidates who never shy away from a challenge, are excited to find new and novel solutions to creative problems and who, most importantly, enjoy the more technical side of motion design and animation.

We are open to a few different levels for this role. The anticipated annual salary ranges for this position would be dependent on level.

Midweight = $60,000 – $70,000 CAD.

Senior = $70,000 – $80,000 CAD.

Salary is based on relevant experience, expertise, and organizational impact.
