The Individual

We're seeking a visionary Technical Motion Designer to lead the development of our motion automation engine. The successful candidate will be instrumental in implementing the framework for our component system and templating engine. This role requires a skilled individual with experience creating After Effects scripts and templates. The ideal candidate will be passionate about automation, with interests in both music and technology.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the development, maintenance, and optimization of a scalable and modular component library for motion design.
• Work closely with the Creative Director and engineering team to create and refine After Effects styles, templates, scripts, and automation tools to improve efficiency.
• Implement best practices for motion design systems, ensuring consistency, flexibility, and high quality output.
• Develop and manage scripting solutions using JavaScript (Expressions) and ExtendScript to automate and optimize content creation processes.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to define requirements, identify opportunities, and drive innovation in component design and functionality.
• Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitor advancements, integrating relevant insights into the evolution of our component library architecture.
• Maintain organization and documentation of all motion design assets, scripts, and workflows.

Qualifications:

• Strong motion design skills with a deep understanding of animation principles.
• Proven experience in Adobe After Effects, including Expressions (JavaScript) and scripting with ExtendScript, preferably within the music or entertainment technology sector.
• Ability to develop and implement automation tools for motion design workflows.
• Adaptable, self-driven, and excited to learn new technologies.
• Inventive in developing effective solutions while collaborating with a remote team.
• Excellent at communicating using any medium (chat, email, voice, video).
• Strong organizational and documentation skills.
