Job summary

Verily Health is seeking a Technical Lead for the User and Accounts Management Team to shape access and control layers of Workbench, enabling researchers to work securely with sensitive health data. You will design and deliver scalable backend services and UI using Go, Java, React, TypeScript, and Terraform, while mentoring engineers and guiding system architecture to improve reliability and performance.

Qualifications

• 5+ years as a full-stack or backend software engineer.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills in cross-functional environments.
• Ability to work independently and produce clear, structured technical documentation.
• Experience with Golang and building scalable backend systems or APIs.
• Leadership experience in technical direction, mentoring, and system design.
• Familiarity with React and TypeScript.
• Cloud computing expertise (GCP or AWS).
• Passion for developing tools that empower scientists in computational biology and genomics research.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and maintenance of secure user and account management systems within Workbench.
• Collaborate closely with Product Management and cross-functional engineering teams to define and deliver high-impact features.
• Develop scalable backend services and user interfaces using Go, Java, React, TypeScript, and Terraform.
• Drive technical discussions, mentor engineers, and contribute to system architecture decisions.
• Identify and implement improvements in reliability, performance, and user experience.
