The Tech Lead is responsible for leading the design, implementation, and support of Pelmorex IT Infrastructure to standardize, modernize, and automate infrastructure management. This role involves designing solutions aligned with the organization's strategic goals and technology roadmap, collaborating with other tech leads and infrastructure administrators.

Note: This role offers flexibility to work from home most of the time but requires travel to our Oakville office when needed, and the ability to work outside business hours and weekends if required.

Candidates must be eligible to work in Canada and currently reside in the Greater Toronto Area.

What does a typical day look like?

• Lead the design and implementation of Pelmorex infrastructure core systems (Kubernetes, VMs, Clusters, CI/CD, Cloud environments), including network security, automation, and monitoring
• Provide technical guidance and leadership for IT-related projects
• Design infrastructure solutions for high availability, scalability, resiliency, and security
• Review existing systems and recommend improvements using best-of-breed technologies
• Research emerging technologies and propose innovative solutions for sustainability
• Ensure quality assurance and document infrastructure architecture
• Document and transfer systems and processes to the IT Operations team
• Act as a 3rd level support escalation point
• Ensure infrastructure systems meet or exceed service levels
• Proactively seek opportunities to improve IT service delivery
• Deliver projects on time, within budget, and to stakeholder expectations
• Provide after-hours support as needed
• Perform other duties as required

We hope you have:

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, computer science, or related field
• 5+ years experience in a 24/7 IT environment
• At least 3 years experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and management of infrastructures like OpenStack, VMware, Proxmox, AWS, GCP, Azure
• Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, Azure, OpenStack, AI/ML)
• Experience managing Kubernetes infrastructure and complex IT environments (Network, Systems, Storage)
• Technical skills in Linux, Windows, scripting, Terraform
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
• Problem-solving skills and familiarity with monitoring and log solutions (ELK, Splunk, Prometheus)
• Experience fostering a DevOps culture
• Ability to communicate complex ideas to non-technical stakeholders
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and develop positive relationships
• Proven leadership in managing technical teams
• Experience developing SLAs and service deliverables
