About The Role

Technical Innovation Coordinator - Packaging, reporting to the Sr. Director, is responsible for researching, developing, and executing packaging initiatives across multiple brands and product lines. This role involves collaborating with Procurement, Operations, and Commercial teams to scope and implement packaging innovations, providing technical support, managing NCR/CAPA processes, and leading design adaptations for packaging formats.

Role And Responsibilities

  • Support innovation by proposing, developing, and implementing packaging options.
  • Develop primary, secondary, and transport packaging aligned with cost, quality, and timeline goals.
  • Serve as packaging SME in cross-functional project teams.
  • Build and maintain relationships with vendors, suppliers, and internal facilities.
  • Create and maintain packaging specifications.
  • Support ERP data creation for new packaging items and BOMs.
  • Collaborate with Quality and Commercial teams on customer complaints related to packaging.
  • Organize and conduct packaging trials.
  • Oversee packaging art development and final prepress approvals.
  • Resolve art file or printing issues, working with stakeholders and suppliers to complete NCRs and CAPAs.
  • Understand print production processes, especially Child Resistant packaging.

Experience And Qualifications

  • University degree in Business, Graphic Arts, Packaging Engineering, or related field.
  • At least 3 years of experience in packaging engineering, preferably in CPG.
  • Knowledge of Corrugate, PET, Pouches, and flexible packaging.
  • Experience with product development, redesigns, and line extensions.
  • CPG experience is an asset.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Self-motivated with attention to detail and deadlines.
  • Ability to build collaborative relationships internally and externally.
