Technical Infrastructure Analyst Term Position

We are currently hiring for a Technical Infrastructure Analyst to join our IT team in Ottawa. In this role, you will be part of a large IT organization working in a structured environment with a dynamic solution space. Provide day-to-day support and customer interaction for break-fix and troubleshooting issues including proactive maintenance for applications and services. A portion of time will be used to support the designs, analysis, plans, and implementation of IT projects which includes considerations for data storage, backups, virtualization, collaboration, applications, networks, operating systems, security as well as support processes. Lots of opportunities to learn and grow using new services and technologies.

This position follows a hybrid working model. There will be a mix of at-home and on-site work, with an expectation of in-office attendance to support business needs. Typically, there will be an expectation of 2-3 days in the office a week.

Duties and Tasks

  • Analyze, detect, identify and correct technical problems and deficiencies.
  • Service request completion, including updating and communicating with customers.
  • Determine proper installation parameters for software and hardware for smooth integration, transition, and efficiency.
  • Installation and configuration of software(s).
  • Hardware support.
  • Operating System support.
  • Application and recommendation of updates, patches, and hot-fixes to systems.
  • Document hardware and software inventory.
  • Process and procedure creation and documentation.
  • Monitor and collect data on system performance.
  • Assist and train customers.
  • Ensure that all devices meet or exceed Security and Corporate policy requirements.
  • Contribute to the design and implementation of new technologies.
  • Ability to research errors using online resources.
  • Self-maintain technical skill sets.
  • Contribute to the design, implementation, and maintenance of the disaster recovery plan for IT-related applications and systems.
  • Seek to identify areas of improvement to the IT infrastructure to meet evolving users and customer requirements and challenges.
  • Develop key relationships. Work with third-party vendors and peers from other General Dynamics Business units.
  • After-hours support to ensure availability, integrity, and introduction of new and existing services.

Minimum Requirements

  • University degree in Computer Science/SW Engineering/applicable discipline or College level diploma with significant background and experience in IT infrastructure support and implementation activities.
  • 4-5 years of related experience.
  • Certifications in the field of expertise are an asset.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain Canadian Security Clearance and a positive Controlled Goods Assessment. Eligibility to work in Canada either as a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident.
  • Technological knowledge in one or more of the following areas:
    • Microsoft Server Editions
    • Microsoft Active Directory
    • Tenable/Nessus
    • Microsoft Azure/M365/O365
    • Citrix
    • BigFix
    • VMware Virtual Environment
