Job description

Technical Field Services Manager – HVAC Sector
Greater Vancouver, BC

Our client is a fast-growing wholesale distributor in the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) industry, servicing both Residential and Commercial Contractor markets. They seek to add a highly motivated Technical Field Services Manager (HVAC) to partner with OEM vendor partners, becoming experts in their products, parts, and equipment.

The primary role involves providing technical support and training to contractor clients and their employees, while also supporting the sales process as a technical product expert to help close challenging projects. The successful candidate will utilize excellent communication and presentation skills to deliver training and product information to end users, contractors, technicians, and internal stakeholders at all levels.

This role serves as a vital link between vendor/supplier partners, sales and customer service teams, and HVAC contractors/owners. It is ideal for experienced HVAC Technicians or Service Managers looking to transition from hands-on work to a customer-facing technical role, leveraging their education and experience.

Additional Responsibilities include:
  1. Develop and deliver training sessions on equipment capabilities and market positioning.
  2. Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and vendors.
  3. Create training materials, tests, and assignments for colleagues.
  4. Review and update onboarding materials as needed.
  5. Assist with warranty support administration for HVAC products.
  6. Provide troubleshooting, product inquiries, and technical support via phone, email, and onsite.
  7. Participate in industry organizations, conferences, networking events, and tradeshows.
  8. Support the rollout of new product lines.
  9. Provide technical specifications, installation, and operation materials to customers and engineering teams.
  10. Join sales calls to support technical inquiries and recommend solutions.
  11. Travel as needed across Western Canada (10-20%).
Qualifications
  1. At least 5 years of hands-on HVAC experience as a licensed technician.
  2. Strong troubleshooting skills in both commercial and residential settings.
  3. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  4. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially PowerPoint, is a plus.
  5. Results-oriented with the ability to multitask.
  6. Energetic, self-motivated, and proactive.
  7. Ability to develop new programs independently.
  8. Strong customer service and technical presentation skills.
  9. Competent with multiple computer applications.
  10. Valid Driver’s License.
  11. Willingness to travel up to 20% monthly.
