Several positions and a pool of candidates

The Standards Council of Canada (SCC) is seeking technical experts to conduct validation and verification accreditation program (VVBAP) assessments, including greenhouse gas (GHG), on a contractual basis.

VVBAP technical experts play a key role in the assessment of VVBs by applying their extensive technical expertise to evaluate the competence of personnel and the conformity of processes. They conduct file reviews, interviews with VVB personnel, and witness audits to support accreditation assessments.

Key Activities
  1. Work closely with the SCC Lead Assessor to determine the scope and criteria to be assessed.
  2. Review customers’ quality management systems, SOPs, procedures, forms, work instructions, and job aids to assess evidence of conformity with relevant criteria.
  3. Review customers’ personnel competency management systems, personnel HR records, and VVBs file records for conformity evidence.
  4. Observe VVB personnel work to assess conformity to procedures via witness audits.
  5. Gather objective evidence of conformances and non-conformances during assessments.
  6. Report findings to the Lead Assessor and provide recommendations based on evidence.
Essential Qualifications

Canadian Citizen/Permanent Resident/Work VISA for the duration of the contract.

Technical Knowledge

  • GHG project sectors like fuel combustion, industrial processes, land use, CCS, livestock, waste handling
  • GHG Technical Sectors for SCC and VCS programs, e.g., energy, manufacturing, chemicals, construction, transport, metals, fugitive emissions, agriculture, forestry, land use, livestock
  • ICAO CORSIA sectors and credit-creating actions, including understanding of related regulations and verification processes
