Job summary

THRILLWORKS is seeking a Technical Director who blends strategy with hands-on execution. You will own architecture for client products, mentor a high-performing team, and partner with Engineering leadership to define tech stack.

You will translate client needs into technical roadmaps and ensure production issues are resolved within SLAs. You are expected to lead with 7+ years in backend development and 5+ years in architecture, plus 3+ years in Next.js.

Qualifications

• 7+ years actively building backend development.
• 5+ years mastering architecture patterns (Microservices, SOA).
• 3+ years of Next.js experience and Contentful or similar headless CMS.
• Cloud Native: design and build for Azure/AWS/GCP.
• 3+ years of client-facing technical strategy leadership.
• Pre-sales involvement: scoping projects and writing technical SOWs.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end architecture for key client products with security/scalability best practices, and write code when needed.
• Mentor a team, focusing on Next.js and Cloud Native patterns.
• Lead Innovation Roadmaps translating business needs into technical blueprints for the team.
• Escalate and resolve production issues within client SLAs.
