SUMMARY :

We are currently looking to recruit a Technical Designer in Engineering for our Edmundston of Pickering office.

The Technical Designer analyzes and evaluates drawing requests, prepares, and produces engineering drawings according to customer requirements, the production team, and building codes. The technical designer gathers related technical information and transmits it to the project manager to start the production process.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Evaluate projects to determine installation site conditions and ensure compliance with applicable codes;
• Calculate and develop drawings of self-supporting structures, concrete bases, and attachment methods for wall signs;
• Create and save engineering drawings to enable:
• The estimation team to establish manufacturing prices;
• The permit team to confirm information needed for installation permits;
• The production drawings to meet initial conditions;
• The project manager to follow installation methods.
• Coordinate with external engineering firms as needed;
• Support other departments including sales, estimation, production design, and project management;
• Participate in and/or coordinate meetings with internal and external parties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES :

• University or college diploma in civil engineering, industrial design, or relevant experience;
• Proficiency in computer systems and drawing software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Corel, Excel, or others;
• Fluent in both French and English, with professional writing and verbal communication skills;
• Ability to adapt, handle challenges, and find solutions;
• Versatile and able to work effectively in a team environment;
• Excellent skills in reading plans, measurements, and structures;
• Strong organizational, observational, initiative, and autonomous skills;
• Legal work authorization in Canada.
