United Way BC is seeking a Technical Business Analyst to leverage data for strategic decisions. You will build dashboards, data models and governance practices, partnering with the Community Impact & Investment portfolio to enable impact measurement.
The role requires 3+ years in data analysis, SQL proficiency and experience with BI tools in a fast-paced environment. This is a regular full-time, hybrid position reporting to the Manager, Business Intelligence and Data Governance.

As the Technical Business Analyst, you will have experience in business analysis, data analytics, and technical solution development, with a strong understanding of how data can be leveraged to inform decision-making and drive organizational impact. You have education and/or experience in areas such as business analysis, computer science, data analytics, or a related field, and are comfortable working across both technical and business domains.
You bring at least 3 years demonstrated experience in researching, organizing, analyzing, and presenting data to support strategic initiatives. You have strong skills in data analysis, reporting, and business process improvement, along with experience working with databases, BI tools, and data models. You are proficient in using tools such as SQL, spreadsheets, and visualization platforms, and bring strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and communication skills. You have the ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights for a variety of audiences, and are comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment while managing multiple priorities.
Reporting to the Manager, Business Intelligence and Data Governance, the Technical Business Analyst plays a key role in supporting United Way BC’s ability to leverage data to inform decision-making, strengthen community impact, and enhance organizational performance. This role will work primarily to support the Community Impact & Investment (CII) department, taking the lead on data-related priorities for multiple portfolios. This requires a deep understanding of United Way BC’s impact work and how data can be used to inform that work in a meaningful, community-centred way.
Working collaboratively with CII and other internal teams, the position develops and maintains reporting solutions, conducts analysis to identify trends and opportunities, and supports the development of data models and performance indicators. This position will require working closely with the direct supervisor, portfolio leads, and CII leadership to understand priorities, translate data and reporting requirements into practical solutions, and ensure reporting and analysis are aligned with impact objectives. The Technical Business Analyst also contributes to advancing data governance practices, improving workflows, and ensuring that staff are equipped with the tools and knowledge needed to effectively use data in their work.
* This is a regular full-time role with an end date of March 31, 2028, and may be subject to extension or early conclusion. The primary portfolio focus of this role is Reaching Home, and this position will report to the Manager, Business Intelligence and Data Governance.

This is a bargaining unit role with CUPE Local 1760. This position is at Pay Grade 39, which is $92,310.40 annually, if you are within Lower Mainland and Fraser Valley region and $88,615.80 annually, if you are outside Lower Mainland and Fraser Valley region.
Candidates must live within 80 KMs (commuting distance) from any of our offices as this position is currently a hybrid role and office attendance is required.
