Job summary

hireVouch is seeking a 6-month contract role in downtown Calgary, with 4 days onsite. You will bridge application teams, cloud engineering, and DevOps during migration and modernization projects, ensuring builds, tests, releases, and operations meet modern engineering standards while preserving function and performance.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of SDLC and Agile delivery.
• Experience with Azure DevOps, Git, CI/CD pipelines.

• Experience documenting current-state and future-state delivery processes.
• Ability to analyze workflows and identify modernization opportunities.
• Familiarity with cloud migration projects.

This role serves as the bridge between application teams, cloud engineering, and DevOps delivery teams during cloud migration and modernization efforts. The primary focus is not business process redesign, but rather ensuring applications can be successfully built, tested, released, and operated using modern engineering practices while preserving existing functionality and performance.

Primary Focus Areas

• Build, test, and release process modernization.
• CI/CD pipeline design and deployment readiness.
• Branching strategy, repository governance, and development lifecycle standards.
• Functional validation and regression planning.
• Application performance and operational readiness reviews.
• Coordination between developers, testers, cloud teams, and product stakeholders.
• Documentation of deployment, support, and operational procedure

Desired Skills & Experience

• Strong understanding of software development lifecycles and Agile delivery practices.
• Experience with Azure DevOps, Git repositories, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and release management.
• Knowledge of branching, merging, source control governance, and deployment strategies.
