Note: Several work modes are offered (remote, flex, in-office). Opportunities are open to residents of Quebec or Ontario unless specified otherwise.

Role Summary

The Technical Artist ensures that technology, tools, and processes support the artistic vision. Collaborating with both creative and technical teams, they clarify technological capabilities and limitations, promoting solutions to technical challenges.

Responsibilities
  1. Serve as a resource for assessing the technical impact of artistic decisions;
  2. Streamline production through automation and process improvements;
  3. Develop best practices, solutions, and tools for problem-solving;
  4. Encourage asset and knowledge reuse across projects;
  5. Ensure the team has the necessary technical expertise;
  6. Push technological boundaries;
  7. Facilitate strong communication between creative and technical teams;
  8. Find innovative solutions for technical optimization within hardware limits;
  9. Understand the rendering pipeline to assess performance impacts.
Qualifications
  1. Degree in Fine Arts, Computer Science, or Engineering;
  2. At least 2 years of experience in 3D modeling, textures, animation, lighting, effects, and scripting;
  3. Technical knowledge of real-time 3D graphics and digital content pipelines;
  4. Knowledge of real-time and pre-calculated lighting;
  5. Strong communication skills;
  6. Experience in the video game industry;
  7. Understanding of scripting and programming (Python, Mel, shaders, etc.);
  8. Experience with version control and production processes;
  9. Proficiency with tools like Maya, 3ds Max, Substance;
  10. Mandatory experience with Unreal Engine (additional engines a plus);
  11. Understanding of rendering hardware across platforms (mobile, PC, consoles);
  12. Fluent in English and French.

Ce que nous recherchons :

  1. Diplôme en beaux-arts, informatique ou génie;
  2. 2 ans d'expérience en modélisation 3D, textures, animation, etc.;
  3. Connaissances en graphisme 3D en temps réel et création de contenu numérique;
  4. Connaissance de l’éclairage en temps réel et pré-calculé;
  5. Bonnes compétences en communication;
  6. Expérience dans l'industrie du jeu vidéo;
  7. Compréhension des scripts et programmation (Python, Mel, CG, HLSL, etc.);
  8. Expérience avec des outils 3D commerciaux (Maya, 3ds Max, Substance);
  9. Expérience obligatoire avec Unreal Engine (autres moteurs un plus);
  10. Compréhension du matériel de rendu sur plusieurs plateformes;
  11. Maîtrise du français et de l'anglais.
